What is ”SHIZQ【shizuku】”?
●To protect our mountains and rivers.
After Japan lost a large portion of its forest resources during the war, the creation of artificial cedar and cypress forests began in the late 1950s to support its rapid recovery.
However, the import of cheap timber from overseas reduced demand for domestic timber,
and these artificial forests were abandoned.
As mountains were no longer cared for, light no longer reached the ground,
undergrowth stagnated, the soil hardened, and the mountains lost their ability to store water.
The "SHIZQ Kamiyama Shizuku Project" was launched in Kamiyama Town, Tokushima Prefecture.
Because most of the pleasant forests surrounding Kamiyama Town are artificial forests, they are beginning to have a negative impact on the environment.
In order to restore the mountains to a healthy state, the "SHIZQ Kamiyama Shizuku Project" thinned out the densely populated mountains and began creating products using the thinned cedar.
The beautiful grain of cedar, which is difficult to process, and the contrast between red and white are utilized to create one-of-a-kind pieces using the craftsmanship of Tokushima artisans.
We are building on our activities one step at a time, hoping to leave as many "drops" as possible for our children's future.
【SHIZQ 神山しずくプロジェクト】とは。
●山や川を守るために。
日本は、戦争によって森林資源が大きく失われてから 急速な復興を支えるため、1950年代後半から杉や檜の人工林の造成が進められました。
しかし、安価な海外の木材の輸入により、国産の木材の需要が減り、 人工林は放置されるようになってしまいました。手入れをされなくなった山は地面に光が届かなくなり、 下草が生えず、土が固くなり、山は水を蓄える力を失うこととなります。
「SHIZQ 神山しずくプロジェクト」は、徳島県の神山町で立ち上がりました。
神山町を取り囲む気持ちのいい山林に囲まれる美しい町ですが、ほとんどが人工林のため、環境への悪影響が出始めているといいます。
「SHIZQ 神山しずくプロジェクト」は、山を健全な状態に戻すために、 密集したした山の木々を間引き、間伐した杉を活用したものづくりを始めました。
加工の難しい杉の、美しい木目と、赤と白のコントラストを生かし、 徳島の職人技で唯一無二の作品へと生まれまわります。
子どもたちの未来に少しでも多くの「しずく」を残せるように、 活動をひとつひとつ積み重ねています。

The beautiful contrast of red and white, along with the horizontal wood grain cutting technique, make this a one-of-a-kind washbasin, brimming with the artisan's attention to detail.

The lacquer is applied, wiped off with a cloth, allowed to dry for a day, and then reapplied. This process is repeated to create a rich color that highlights the wood grain and luster.
赤と白の美しいコントラストと、木目が横向きに入るのカット技法は、職人のこだわりが詰まった唯一無二の洗面ボウルに。
漆を塗っては布で拭き取り、1日乾燥させては再び塗る。この工程を繰り返し木目と艶が際立つ重厚な色合いが生まれます。
ご使用に関するご注意とお願い
- 割れ、欠け等の破損が発生しやすいので、運搬や施工時は取り扱いにご注意位ください。
- 洗面ボウルを設置する際は、必ず天板との間にコーキング用のシール処理を施してください。
- 専用の排水金具をご使用ください。排水穴に合わない排水金具を使用すると、漏水などが起こる恐れがあります。
- 使用しない時は排水金具の排水栓をは開けておいてください。誤って水栓から吐水した場合、水が溢れ家財に損害を与える恐れがあります。
- 排水金具取付け後は水を流し、必ず漏れが無いか確認してください。
- 排水金具のボウル内及びナット部分にシリコーン系コーキング剤で防水処理を施してください。 ※排水金具の下部パッキンの内径当り面は構造上ナット接合部の為ねじ形状となる為、コーキング処理が無いと排水時に水が漏れる可能性があります。
