What is Onta ware?
Onta ware is a fine product with a history of about 300 years, which originates in Onta ware village, located in the northern part of Hita City, Oita Prefecture. The tradition of passing down the techniques from parent to child is preserved. Using natural energy, all processes are done by hand, without the use of machines. The products are characterized by their simple, unadorned designs, with the texture and warmth that can only be achieved through handcrafting. In1954, the world-renowned British potter Bernard Leach visited Onta ware, which led to its popularity spreading around the world. In 1995, it was designated an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan.
小鹿田焼【おんたやき】とは？
大分県日田市の北部に位置する「小鹿田焼の里(おんたやきのさと)」で約300年の歴史を持つよきものです。
技術の伝承は、親から子へと受け継がれる「一子相伝」の伝統を守っています。
自然エネルギーを利用し、機械を使うことなくすべての工程を手作業のみで作ります。
手作りならではの風合いや温かみが感じられ、シンプルで飾り気のないデザインが特徴です。
1954年に世界的な陶芸家であるイギリスの陶芸家バーナード・リーチが訪れたことで、魅力が世界中に広まるようになりました。
1995年には日本の重要無形文化財に指定されました。

- 川の水を利用した唐臼（からうす）で20～30日かけて細かく土を砕く
- 職人が足で蹴って回す蹴ろくろ（けろくろ）で成形
- 薪を使う登り窯で24時間体制で薪火の調整をし焼き上げる
- 他にも数多くの手作業を経て、長い時間をかけ小鹿田焼（おんたやき）は完成します。
ご使用に関するご注意とお願い
- 割れ、欠け等の破損が発生しやすいので、運搬や施工時は取り扱いにご注意位ください。
- 洗面ボウルを設置する際は、必ず天板との間にコーキング用のシール処理を施してください。
- 専用の排水金具をご使用ください。排水穴に合わない排水金具を使用すると、漏水などが起こる恐れがあります。
- 使用しない時は排水金具の排水栓をは開けておいてください。誤って水栓から吐水した場合、水が溢れ家財に損害を与える恐れがあります。
- 排水金具取付け後は水を流し、必ず漏れが無いか確認してください。
- 排水金具のボウル内及びナット部分にシリコーン系コーキング剤で防水処理を施してください。 ※排水金具の下部パッキンの内径当り面は構造上ナット接合部の為ねじ形状となる為、コーキング処理が無いと排水時に水が漏れる可能性があります。
